‘Wonder’ is an ethereal journey of a track created by London’s Ebony Buckle. Musically, it has connections to Kate Bush and Björk, but it’s the track’s inspiration that provides the most interest. In the 1980s, the ‘world’s loneliest whale’ was discovered singing at a frequency that was thought to be inaudible to other whales. In the years since, it has been re-evaluated and theorised that the whale can be heard more than most due to its unique sound. Buckle takes that story, and turns it into a journey about an inter-dimensional traveller that has lost contact with its home planet.
